BLONDE PUP
YELLOW PUPS IN LITTER

DO BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN?
Ask Gouda and Deuce
(Candlewood's Gambling Man MH)!

Gouda and Deuce became the proud parents of 13 darling yellow pups, eight females and five males, on 1/10/10. Despite the large size of the litter, there was no mortality, and all the pups are thriving. This is a repeat breeding that produced exceptionally handsome, intelligent, personable pups in the first litter. This litter promises to follow suit. Pedigrees of both parents are exceptional. Click here to see the pedigree.

Deuce's pedigree and photo also may be seen under the stud dogs link. Two males and two females will be sold with full registration for $800 each. The remaining pups will be sold with limited registration (pup can be registered but not used for breeding) for $650 each. All pups have dew claws removed, will have first shots and first worming and will be vet checked. All come with a full health guarantee. Pups will be ready to join their new families in early March.

Will

Hillview's Hershey's Kiss X Piddle Creek's Strong Will JH-Due 2/15/10

This is the first litter Will has sired.

Kiss is a daughter of my Master Hunter, Piddle Creek's Excaliber, and is a well built, vigorous dog who has previously had two litter of pups.

Will, a junior hunter, is scheduled to run the seniors this upcoming summer. He is OFA excellent on his hips, elbows normal, CERF, and EIC and CNM clear. His athleticism is incredible. The picture of Will (to the left) was taken this past fall on our game farm, by photographer, Jim Gallop.

Pocket and Duces Pups

Pictured above is Pocket with her pups via Duces Wild in a previous litter.

Litters pending:

Piddle Creek's Pocket Rocket SH X Palmer's Duces Wild MH QAA-due 2/28/10

This is a repeat breeding.

Pocket is a dream dog. She is a senior hunter, started on her master title, beautiful, athletic, highly tractable and loyal and does any and everything one would want in the field.

Palmer's Duces Wild, owned by John Palmer and sire of Pocket's litter, is a titled as a Master Hunter through AKC Hunt tests and is Qualified All-Age in
the field trial circuit. He also is an exceptional hunting and family dog. Duce's hips are OFA certified "excellent" and his eyes are CERFed.

Duce and Pocket are tested clear of both EIC and CNM.

Gunner

Holly helps out United Way!

Holly, a son of my Master Hunter, Excaliber, and Piddle Creek's Little Bitty, brought in $1350 at the United Way's Holly Auction in December. He was fully donated by Piddle Creek Kennels. Holly has a wonderful new family and a new name, Gunner, that is more suited to his gender than his original name. How could anyone resist those eyes?

Hurray for Babe!

Piddle Creek's Birdy Babe completed her Senior Title at Northern Flights Hunting Retriever Association's Hunt Test on 8/23/09. Babe is preparing to move on to the Master level in the 2010 season. She’s an incredibly talented dog. Babe came in season three days after titling and is bred to Palmer’s Duce’s Wild MH QAA . Their litter is expected in November, with pups that would be ready to go to new homes at Christmas time.

Aces

Ace lives up to his name!

Pleasant Valley's 4th Ace earned his Junior Hunter Title on August 29th at Blackhawk Retriever Club's hunt test in Mondovi, WI. Ace was handled to his title by my son, Eric Strong. Ace is a three year old male yellow lab, OFA good, elbows normal, CERF normal, EIC clear, microchipped, dew claws removed. He carries the recessive chocolate gene and has produced a three color litter. Both his upland and waterfowl hunting skills are great.

Royal

Piddle Creek's Royal Flush earned his Master Hunter Title on 6/14/09 and becamemy fourth Master Hunter. He was handled to his title by trainer, Tim Springer.

Also, on 6/14/09, my German Shorthaired Pointer, Feldjager's Sophia, earnedher Natural Ability Prize I. She was handled to her NA title by R. Carey McMillan.

On 7/15/09, grandson, Anthony, earned first blue and trophy in his classwith 197 1/2 points out of a possible 200, in obedience at the Barron County 4H dog show.

Goose Banding Adventure

For the umpteenth time, our family participated in Barron and Washburn County DNR's annual Goose Roundup and banding. We assisted in the capture and banding of 519 geese and are pleased to report that there were no casualties among the birds or the banders. As you can see in the photo of the unidentified young lady, these birds can be a handful.

Deuce

HIP, HIP HURRAY FOR DEUCE

Candlewood's Gamblin' Man, AKA Deuce, completed his Master Hunter title on 3/15/09 at the Waterloo Amateur Retriever Club 2009 Spring Hunt Test in Manheim, TX. Of the 100 Master dogs that were entered, only 40, including Deuce, were able to pass the test. Deuce is now an AKC titled Master Hunter. If Deuce passes the next master event in which he is entered, he will be qualified for the Master Nationals.

Kathy and Larry donate dog that sells for $2600 at Auction
MN/WI FNAWS endorses Yellow River Game Farm/Piddle Creek Kennels.

"Kathy and Larry Strong have been helping the Minnesota-Wisconsin Chapter of the Foundation of North American Wild Sheep raise money for over 20 years now, by providing a Labrador puppy for our annual fundraiser. Kathy and Larry are experts in selecting, breeding and training dogs. They have established a reputation for integrity, honesty and for standing behind the dogs they sell. Over the years puppies selected and provided by Kathy and Larry Strong have made thousands of dollars for our conservation organization. The sale of their puppy at our annual fundraiser is one of the highlights of the evening as everyone knows the high bidder is going home with the very best available in a Lab puppy. At our March 14, 2009 annual MN-WI FNAWS Convention, a puppy from the Strong's very own Piddle Creek Kennels brought $2,600 on our live auction! Our membership obviously recognizes quality in both the Strongs and the dogs they select for our fundraiser."
